Monster Trucks

There was a monster truck rally in Edinburgh which Fraser really fancied going to. As there are three girls to just one of him I suppose he has a lot to cope with. So I thought it wouldn't be that bad seeing some manly stuff for a day. Boy was I wrong! The show was brilliant - there were planes, trucks, play parks, circus tricks, arts and crafts tent and Neives favourite - some fire engines but it was perishingly cold. I could only have Beth out in it for a little while and my feet were like ice! As I tried to explain to Fraser a days shopping in Livingston is never that cold! So it's back to the girly activities.

Deep Sea world

Neive loved deep sea world when we first took her around the same age as Beth is now. So we hoped it would go down just as well. Beth liked it and loved roaming around looking at the fishes but she is one scaredy cat! She is scared of anything that moves. Not an animal lover.

Heres a pic of Neive at that age and Beth now.

Old Pics

So I found an old camera card with pics of Neive when she was a baby. I can not believe the difference and I think some of the mummies will enjoy seeing their big girls as babies again.

Jamies Party

The girls are very lucky and get invited to lots of Birthday parties. Jamie was turning a big 3 and his mum paid for all the kids to go to M and D's for the day. They started at the soft play, then the carousel, a brilliant lunch and then unlimited goes on the rides. Neive loved the dodgems and did really well all by herself. We eventually left at 4 having exhausted the girls. A brilliant day was had by all.

Little sisters can be fun too!

Happy Birthday Daddy - 34 Today (13th Sept)

Daddy doesn't like a fuss at his birthday. So mummy (totally respecting his feelings) made sure he had a birthday party where all the attention would be on him. Much to his delight ;)

(Who are you looking at! - people often say they can't believe how much Beth looks like Fraser. I don't mind really as long as she doesn't always look as scary as she does in this pic)

We got the chance to meet Ellie (Neive new bestest friend - this is mostly everyone she meets but she definitely took a shine to Ellie) We had a play about outside before dinner. Neive's football skills are very impressive but Beth just keeps picking the ball up. Maybe she'll be a rugby player like her daddy. Neive and Beth helped Daddy blow out the birthday candles and Beth tasted her grannies curry for the first time.

I think she liked it! Fraser - Happy Birthday & we all love you lots!

Shopping

Neive loves playing shops - its her favourite game and can play it for hours and hours! We got a plastic one from a nearly new sale and it's her favourite toy. Mummy has to empty her cupboards though of all her food stuff - so I'm hoping she might get some toy food for her birthday. (She did actually - from all her wee pals)

Chase anyone?

I love this video as normally Neive is running rings around Beth and this time Beth gets to slap Neive on the bum!

Long time no see....

Long time no see - So mummy has been very busy and hasn't updated our blog in a real long time. So there'll be loads that I have missed but here's a quick update on what we've been up to.

Nap time

This weekend Daddy is getting tired from everything - even sitting on the couch makes him want to nap. Neive and I decided to get out the house and let him have his beauty sleep. Neive wanted to feed the swan and I had some bread that was past it's best. Am I the only person in the world that feels guilty giving swans bread that I wouldn't give to a human? It's like knowingly poising them. if it's in the gazette next week that one of them has died I will never forgive myself!

Suzzie's 3rd Birthday party

(Beth in party dress with black eyes! She fell again!)

Suzzie threw a disco for her 3rd birthday party (or should I say George and Alec as they did all the hard work). Neive loves to dance - although to the untrained eye it looks a lot like running in circles for hours on end with the occasional twirl thrown in.

This was totally up Neives street and she had a great time. Her eyes lit up at the massive chocolate cake George produced.

I tried to take photos which is quite hard to do with two kids that are both on the move. I think for most of the party I had no idea where Beth was and just hoped all the girls would be looking out for her. Anyway I'm not very good with the camera and always think if I take enough there'll be a good one in them. Well the kids kept runing about crazy and not matter how many pictures I took they are all blurred?!

My friend Alison is a brilliant photgrapher. Same venue, kids and lights and look what she manages to do. No contest really!

Our week out of the house

So Monday was our usual toddlers, run to ballet, drop in on Laura unexpectedly and demand dinner. Tuesday we play dated morning and afternoon then decamped to Granny chicken house. On Thursday, We meet granny ducks in the hairdressers. Neive got her hair cut whilst granny was getting hers done. You can see she is as proud as punch she was doing the same thing as her granny. She sat as good as gold for the hairdresser.

We went for a play in the park after where Beth was trying to copy Neive this time.

Running to catch up with her and spinning round next to her big sister. She also looks as pleased as punch.

The rest of the day was spent in the trampoline and we had a BBQ at night - but don't tell dad as we want him to think that us being forced out of our house was a total hardship :0) Granpa did a brilliant job and getting the hang of his new BBQ. That will probably be the last BBQ of the summer.

The devil has red eyes

At the weekend we arranged to go out to the fringe with Craig and Alison to see Jason Byrne. Fraser had been ill since the wednesday before - just tired and grumpy. Then he caught an eye infection from Beth in one eye. By the weekend both eyes were sore and he was really struggling. I was adamant that we were going on an overnight away from the kids and he had just better perk up. We went on a pub crawl and then some tapas, more alcohol and then the show. Got in at 1 and we were all really rough the next day.

By Monday though Fraser couldn't even open his eyes so I called the Dr's and told them they were seeing my husband today. I ran him up there first thing in the morning and he came out with a pile of prescriptions. He has tonsilitous and a severe conjunctavitous in each eye. He needed total bed rest for two weeks. Well having kids running around the house makes it difficult to relax and catch up on sleep. So for all this week I have been out the house jumping from one playdate to the next and staying at my mum and dads. I'm happy to report that he can now see out of both his eyes and he is back on solid food. So we've all moved back home - we missed him lots and happy to see the back of Mr Grumpy pants.

Playing with my sister

We met up with Aunty Ali at Lanark Loch on Thursday for a play in the park and lunch. Beth is brilliant at climbing stairs and loves the chute. The only problem is the toddler who is knocking her over to get on the slide first. Neive honey watch out -it wont be too long till she's faster than you and what goes around comes around:)

The girls great Aunty Margaret made some gorgeous little dresses for Neive. She looks very pretty in pink until you see her legs that look like a spotted Dalmatian. There are about 3 plasters in each leg (not attractive) and a bunch of bruises.

The girls have been getting on great - Beth looks at Neive likes she's the bees knees and copies everything she does. She follows her from room to room and laughs her head off when Neive tickles her. We got a book out of the library Thursday morning called Big sister and little sister. It's brilliant it has a brown haired big sister and a little blond haired sister. It shows the big sister doing all these different activties like swimming and the little sister splashing in the water and Neive kept saying "just like me and baby" with a big smile on her face. She knows what a big important job being a big sister is. She's doing a great job.

My little girls all grown up!

Every woman knows the right of passage to becoming a proper little lady is when you can do the towel thing! I have no idea why it confounds a man - look even a two year old can do it!

Messy Play

Someone thought it would be a good idea to run a messy play session at toddlers (Charlene!). There's a reason it's called messy play and I don't think anyone can imagine 30 kids and messy play. The kids loved it! There was bubble water, corn flakes, cold baked beans (Baulk! Beth scooped loads of them) rice, pasta and paint.

It was the foot prints that sent the mess into overdrive.

Plus Beth and Daniels favourite game was pouring the water out the baby baths, at one point the floor looked like a river.

It's brilliant that the toddlers will run sessions like this. All the mums chip in with the mess and your house doesn't get trashed.

After we were cleaned up Beth was riding a didicar. She was getting it to go all by herself - much to her delight.
