Holidays!!!!!!!
We went to centre parcs on holiday at Penrith. It was absolutely brilliant and my saying currently is "that's another good thing about centre parcs" much to the annoyance of everyone else. But it really is so family orientated and every need was catered for. It started off with us going to toddlers on Monday morning as Spell was doing an 'under the sea' session and Neive was a mermaid. She loved this and everyone was asking about her holiday which really got her excited. I have some photos but I've not uploaded them yet. We headed straight there from toddlers as they both slept in the the car on the way down. Well actually everyone slept on the way except daddy, he was listening to Bruce Springsteen and squealling to the songs. It didn't take long for check in and we looked around the parc. Neive saw the trailers attached to the bikes that everyone travels around in and she would not stop going on about getting a bike.
We settled in to the chalet and Mum and I headed straight to the sauna leaving the guys with the kids. A sign of the good times to come.
There were 16 different experiences and it was pure bliss (with the exception of the Turkish baths which was so hot and steamy I thought I might pass out) Mum and I got a bottle of wine and sat at cafe rouge chatting till they kicked us out and we walked home drunk. On Tuesday, we headed straight for the swimming pool. There were baby pools, kiddy pools (yes there's a difference), wave pools, outdoor pools, river rapids, waterfalls, Jacuzzi, slides, shutes etc etc
We eventually coaxed Neive out by 11:30 and headed home for lunch. Fraser got a bike and cycled Neive round the site. We had a BBQ for dinner and I was really taken by how much time Neive spent outdoors. She was constantly wanting out to look at the wildlife or play with sticks, stones, etc. There were red squirrels, ducks and grouse as neighbours and constantly waddling by the back door. On Wednesday it was back for more swimming (we went twice a day each day), a play in the adventure play park, a walk and treasure trail.
We also hit the beach(it's man made by the lake) and went on a pedalo.
At night, we went to the baby disco and I'm not scared to say I had some killer moves on the dance floor. On Thursday, Neive went on a horse and carriage ride whilst Fraser seriously kicked my butt at ping pong.
Dad and f played each other at bowls, pool and ping pong. More swimming and a differnet play park and of course more bike rides.
At night me and F escaped by ourselves for some time and I got drunk on a glass and a half of wine. On Friday we had just enough time to pack up, a bike ride and swimming before heading home.
The minute we got home we were on the Internet booking our next holiday.
